How secure is the password protection for modules in VBA in excel? I'm primarily concerned with the add-ins falling into a competitors hands and gaining access through some of the companies that offer password recovery. I know that the passwords for a word and excel file are recoverable, but am not sure about passwords for VBA modules.

They're not secure. There are many programs floating around on the inet for both decompiling XLA's and getting the passwords out of project files.

My company produces commercial XLA's and VBA solutions, my advice is: keep using passwords and stuff, but dont feel too miserable when someone else has borrowed your code.

kaah.

That's what I thought. Had someone try to convince me that its ultra secure.
