Compared to Oracle 9i and 10g, I'm sure that Oracle 8i has many security gaps. (Just now when I Googled * "security problems" "Oracle 8" *, I received over 1K hits that you can research per your need.) That's one reason (probably) why Oracle de-supported the last version of Oracle 8i long ago and why we generally try to stay with supported versions.
I'm sure there are business justifications for someone staying with way stale versions of Oracle, but rarely are there good technical reasons.
