A Crystal Report based on a MSSQL Database and published to CE10.

Is it possible to ensure that users only see data in the report if we use Active Directory (Windows Server 2003.
In other words a user logs on and CE10 authenticates them using Active Directory and then when they view the report MSSQL will use AD to ensure they only see data based on their AD credentials.

Thanks

You can do single sign-on to the database when VIEWING a RPT file in BOE-XI, not sure about CE-10.

Also, this only works when doing an ON-DEMAND VIEW of the RPT file. If you SCHEDULE these RPT files to run at a certain time (eg. overnight) - then the users can see in HISTORY whatever data was returned for the account that was used for the DATABASE CONNECTION at the runtime.

We get around this for our large batches of SCHEDULED reports, by having the same RPT files in multiple folders that are secured in BOE-XI (R2) for different WinAD groups.

You can also create a record selection formula ( or add to any you have now) that uses the CurrentCEUser value to determine which records to show..
