Hi,

We have recently added a second exchange server (2010) to our domain, which already has exchange 2003.

When we migrate a mailbox from the 2003 server to the 2010 server the user gets a Security Alert.

We can simply install the self certified certificate but I wanted to know if there was another way around this?

Many thanks in advance.

You need to install & enable a certificate that's trusted by all machines that will access it (the self signed certificate is not). Normally, this is a third party certificate that includes all of the relevant names, such as mail.domain.com, autodiscover.domain.com, etc.

Yes, get a legit third party cert and make your problems go away. There are ways around your issue that can be resolved with a few hours of settings changes and manual installation to other servers or pay the $20 or whatever it is these days and buy a real cert.
