We have had a rash of unauthorised people using the paging system at one of our sites. Management would like to add some kind of security, so authorised users would have to dial a code to get access to page. The paging system does not have this option.
Currently the PBX is an Opt 11 using a paging trunk as access. Does anyone have any thoughts on how to add a security password to this set up?

Thanks for the replies, I have already changed it to 7 digits and it is working for now, I was not able to think of any other way though, so this will have to work.
Apparently they also have some standard analog lines set up to give tones on the system that they want to secure too. Any thoughts on how this might be accomplished? - no ACOD to change. Again I have already made this a 7 digit non DID, but is there more options for this set up?

Sadly the people that have to use the system move around in the building and could end up needing to use any phone, so, at the moment, that's not an option.
Thanks all for your consideration and head scratchin', I will wait to see if the 7 digits takes care of it.

You could use AUTH codes - assign an authcode to a class with TGAR 0 COS UNR

You then need all phones restricted by changing there TGAR to one that matches Paging route.

Thanks guys, if the 7 digit "fix" doen't work, I will give this a go.
