HI
This is my problem :
I want to give an ftp access (just put) to one directory for a user .I do not want this user to do anything else than to ftp 4 files everyday . I do not want him to have access to read , cd or pwd command.

The only thing I was able to do by this time is to gave him access via anonymous and to limit his access to the directory he put the files in .But I didn't find the way to force a password for the user anonymous.

We use Proftp

install 'ssh' and 'scp' -----------
when they don't ask you anymore, where they are come from, and they don't tell you anymore, where they go ... you'r getting older !

I'm not sure if it applies to ProFTPD, but there is a good explanation on the normal ftpd man page of how to set up a safe anonymous FTP server... perhaps that might help? Annihilannic.

1. You may want to look at setting up a special account for this individual.
2. Put ftp in wrappers to only allow access from specific sites.
3. Put ftp in a chroot jail to limit access from other directories.

Hope this helps some. I personally use wu-ftpd, but whatever floats your boat.

Good Luck!
