HI,

Is there anyway on the 3300 you can carry out a secure transfer e.g

Important call comes into MD, he wishes to transfer the call to another office but doesnt want anyone answering the phone.
Ideally is there anyway you can use a feature so when the md picks up the phone it prompts a pin before the call is transferred through
thanks in advance

Supervised transfer???

The internal user transfers to other extension but doesn't hangup or release. This puts the caller on hold, while internal user hears ringing of the other phone. If the other user picks up, then you can talk to him and let him know that you have a caller on hold for him. Hang up and the on hold caller will be connected to the other user. If it is not the user you want, then let them hang up and them press your cancel button to be connected back to the on hold caller.

There is nothing special to this setup, just the way it works.

Either that or actually put the caller on hold and then call the other extension. If they want the call, then do the transfer.

No think im mis-understood.

For example:-
A call comes into the md in his boardroom which he answers. He wants to transfer the call to another office - he will walk to the other office once transferring the call and he will answer the call. Is there anyway he can then be prompted for a pin to accept the call. The reason been he doesnt want anyone else picking up the transferred call. He will be the only user to answer / transfer and retrieve the call.

I dont think the mitel can do it. Only way i can think as a workaround is to park the call in a random parking slot and retrieve the call from that parking bay.

Its a rather strange feature ive never been asked for but the customer is adamant is a feature they need.

Two ways that you could do that, but there will not be a PIN or security code.

One is as you say, park the call and retrieve on the other set. There is security if he doesn't let anyone else know that he has parked the call.

Two is to just put the call on hold and then do a remote call hold pickup. Sorry, can't exactly remember the term, but there is a FAC. I believe it is enabled with COS options, so if only his phone and the boardroom have it, then no one else can "steal" his call. I would suggest this one because the user only has to remember the local that is holding the call.

Other than that, well, you can't always get what you want.

Thats it - feature called call hold remote retrieve.
thanks for teh reply
