Secure Site Root Certificate Update 1

If you have been having issues with secure sites since 1-7-2004 you might want to update your Browser's Verisign Root Certificate.

1. go to the site listed below
2. Click on "Click here for client root replacement"
3. On the next screen, click on "to manually update click here"
4. Click on the big green "Accept"
5. In the download box that opens, click on "Open" rather than "Save"
6. IE should launch the installation for the root Certificate. Just click Next, then Finish.

You have reffered here to an error I am getting when attempting to run Microsoft's vb5cli.exe program.

Windows SP2 is simply halting the program, complaining of a certification problem: "Windows has found a problem with this file: Unknown publisher"

This is particularly annoying given I am downloading this file from the Microsoft website.

How can I get around this certification problem? I have done what you suggest above, but to no avail.
