Hi,
I tried to use secure dial-back function, but when the remote modem rings back, my modem (WinFIOL I think) did not react to this. How to realise connection?

Thank you

If u are using tapi (Modemchl) u need to set
s0=1 in the modem init string under control panel
phones and modems properties on the modem used.

If serial chl set autoanswer ats0=1 .

Thanks for your answer!
I use Win98, NDISWAN TAPI, this driver doesn't support settings from Windows... Modem internal, US Robotics 56k. May be some other way to set the values?

Set the winfiol channel to serial , and select the com port the modem uses .
Dial in tty mode with ATDT1234 ..
Just set the autoanswer ATS0=1 before dialing .

Modem use COM5 on the PC. When run pcAnywhere as the server, modem answers and establishes the connection (I use the scheme to check if modem can answer at all).

Thanks

SYAR, great respects!
I'll try.

Thanks a lot.

Arent you dialing directly to a modem connected to the MD with callback function . If so after you enter password it will dial back . Winfiol should then be in control of the COM5 port not pcanywhere (with autoanswer enabled in the modem S0 register =1 )

SYAR, pcAnywhere I used only to check if modem works properly (i.e. can to answer) - not for MD110.

I've tried like you said - a step forward!!!
ATS0=1 shows OK!
But after ATDT (remote phone number) I get continuous trembling tone....... when press Esc the printout NO CARRIER appears.

Thanks

SYAR,
ATX3 itself gives OK, if then ATDT with remote # - cont. tone

ATX3 rem.# gives ERROR

Thanks

Doesn't it dial the number with
example:
ATDT518453412

Where "518453412" is the modem number to the remote MD .

SYAR,
yes, doesn't want to dial ATDT1234567,
where 1234567 - the phone number of remote MD modem.

ATDT,1234567
ATD,1234567

ATDTn After issuing this command, the modem will attempt to establish a connection and dial the number n.

Options to the command D:

W Wait for dialtone. When using a PABX this is used to wait for the second dialtone. Note: not all PABXs give a second dialing tone. Consider using "@" instead.
@ Wait for silence for 5 seconds.

, Pause for 2 seconds (S8)

! Flash ( on-hook for value in S29 )

; Return to command mode after dialing.

P Pulse dial

T Tone dial

n The telephone number to be dialed

Sn Dial number stored in directory entry &Zn where n=0..19. The selected number is shown on the screen for verification.

J Perform MNP10 link negotiation at highest supported speed (for this call only).

L Redial last number.

^ Disable calling tone, this call only.

The call can be aborted at any stage before the connect message appears, by entering any character except Linefeed.

SYAR,
it works! In my case we should use command ATDP - pulse dialling!!!
Thank you dear!

Yours sincerely,

Your welcome , who would think you used pulse dialing .
Anyway glad it worked out .

Thanks.

Cheers SYAR

No choice - we use pulse dialling traditionally, those who want tone must pay extra money monthly... Only now some wireline operators provide it for free :) .

Cheers, dear.
