Secure Connection between 2 Databases

I want to secure a connectin between 2 databases. Can anyone give me a hint?
Do i need to configure the Listener to be encrypted?

Have you thought about using database links ? They are stored within the database, so you can only use them or find out any information about them if you are connected to the database in the first place.

Yes i was thinking about. But aren´t the communicating unencrypted?
What kind of databaselink should i use? privat or public?
I want encrypted connections between the databases.
