I have built a web site for my client which they now want expanded, to include a "secure" area. The request is that, by selecting a button from a current page they will be presented with a request for name and password, before being allowed to continue.

Can anybody suggest how I should proceed with this? For example, do I need to buy specific security software?

The site has been developed entirely using Macromedia.

Thanks, in advance.

Regards,

Leslie

Check out: - they offer a free version & a paid version. Very easy to use & free support as well.

You must be on a Windows platform to use ASP. If you are on UNIX, you can use htaccess or PHP. You might need to check with your hosting company to see what they support.
