Hi, well my hard drive became damaged, bad sectors in some parts, but also whenever i try to scandisk it i get:
Sector not found.

And thenscandisk gets stuck, i tried some other scandisk and it shows the same error...

Is there any way i can fix this without formating?
My OS is on that drive and it won't load...

Thanks.

Disk is best abandoned - it will almost certainly continue causing problems if you can get it running. So, if its (part) readable mounted as slave, and you've got stuff to retrieve - I'd do that, then bin it (or return if under warranty).

Have you tried disk manufacturer's utility to check it? (most have such on their websites). There may also be a zero fill utility (sometimes called low level format) - or it may be same utility - sometimes used to try to recover use of a damaged disk. But as I said - I certainly would not want to use disk again for anything that mattered.
