Hi,

I am writing a report that is using a dBase database. In the report I have 15 sections. These are comprised of a text object and three dBase fields. I have set the condition to suppress and it works fine if I don't have the text object in the section. However once I add the text object, even if the suppression criteria are fulfilled, it still prints the text object.

Any help on this would be greatly appreciated,

Tony.

have you got the suppression on each of the sections or on the individual fields ?

It would be easier if we had some idea of the data you are using and the suppression formula.

Hi,

Formula is as follows:

IF {Contact2.UBRAND1} = '' AND {Contact2.UVOL1} <= 0 AND {Contact2.UDIST1} = '' THEN
TRUE
ELSE
FALSE

This is being applied at the section level. I tried using the same formula in the text object suppression but it did not work either.

The actual sections are as follows:

[Text Object] [UBrand1] [UVol1] [UDist1]

Thanks for your help,

Tony.

What do you mean by 15 sections ?

15 detail lines ?, 15 sections in total including group headers, footers etc ?

are all of these fields in the section you are trying to suppress ?

Hi Garry,

There are 15 detail sections, each comprised of:

Item Descrip Brand Volume Distributor
[Text Object] [UBrand 1-15] [UVol 1-15] [UDist 1-15]

What I want to do is look to see if brand or volume of distributor is blank or not. If any of them have information then I want to display the section. If they are all blank then I want that individual section suppressed.

Hope this helps,

Tony.

from what you have described the formula suppression should work, did you say it works when the text box isn't included ? If you are applying the suppression to the section this shouldn't amtter.

If you want to send me a copy of the report saved with data let em know and i'll provide you with an e-mail address and take a closer look.
