Hello,

have a set up where the secretary has her boss's number on her phone so when a call comes in she picks it up. Now she would like to transfer the call to her boss but you cant transfer call to the same line you're on (as far as I know). She could park the call or place it on hold so her boss could pick it up, but we're trying to avoid her yelling to let him know to pick up the call that's on hold.

So what is the best way to set this up? I could put a second line on the boss's phone and she could transfer to that number, but does seem like the best way to do this. Ideas? Thanks

does she need a way to announce the call? Otherwise how will he know she already answered it and it's not just another incoming call?
I would think she needs a way to announce it one way or another. Yelling is not a good way to job security so maybe an intercom button.
Then she can put the call on hold, announce via intercom and he picks up or chooses not to.

If she doesn't need to announce it, put them in their own pick up group, she picks up the call from his line to hers, then transfers it back to him.
IPMA is another way but in my experiance, it sounds great at first, then once you implement it becomes too cumbersome and they abandon back to the above methods.
