Will be installing an IP Office with several analog "POTS" phones & using embedded VM for a small hotel. Anyone know of a "very easy" way to clear a VM box of all messages for when the Guests leave if they just so happen to save or not listen to them? We were thinking if there was perhaps a way to create a Short Code to do this but haven't found a solution so I think we're at a dead end -No can't be done situation, and I know very limited with Embedded/not VMPro...Any ideas?

Rename the user, not the full name field, that creates a new mailbox, no way with shortcodes though :)

Hey thanks amriddle. We gave them that option but they don't want to have to manage it everytime

The thought was to have Housekeeping press code on dial-pad if they see a message light at the phone while they're cleaning after the Guest had gone. They didn't want Housekeeping listening in on the messages though

Give all users a login code. Then reception can login as that room from reception and use the visual voice delete all option and then logout.

Stuck in a never ending cycle of file copying.

That sounds like a good solution Sizbut, but that will require someone to go back to the room and log that phone in correct?

Why not just disable VM at all?
I have been in a lot of hotels and none of them ever offered a VM box on their room phone, seems a bit silly to me to offer that.

That sounds like the best solution so far sizbut, thank you for that idea. It's too bad that you can't clear a mailbox from SSA like you can with VMPro client being that I've seen too many times systems with embedded configured wrong where too many messages in too many mailboxes kills some phones.
And I completely agree intrigrant, everyone has cell-phones but wasn't my sale just a Contractor trying to give the Client what they want, however I do know all too well that we sometimes have to let them down easy in telling them the system they just paid for is not capable of certain features they thought they'd get. Gotta say though, we used to do only Nortel and the IP Office is way more flexible

I only know of the Mitel that does what you want. But that specific Miterl was designed just for the hospitality business.

The login code suggestion allows reception to do it from the reception desk - assuming they have an Avaya phone that supports visual voice. SSA will at least report which mailboxes have messages.

Stuck in a never ending cycle of file copying.

If you are on R9.1 and don't have to many rooms you can provide a button module and create a VV button for every single room.

give them voicemail pro client on the front desk and clear the mailboxes that need it. That is way faster than pushing buttons and a GUI so there is less potential user errors.

Its EVM.

And if they were on 9.1, the the new U user source number would allow the receptionist to access any mailbox through VV without needing to login

Stuck in a never ending cycle of file copying.

but can you imagine scrolling through 120 rooms in VV :) they have bloody fingertips by the time they get to the middle of them

Great suggestion derfloh. I forgot about that new feature and haven't even had to use it yet. I'll try that on a test to see how works.
Lol @ Westi's comment; As mentioned it's a small hotel; very small with only about over 20 rooms or so and I can't imagine they'd even get many voicemail messages. Reception will have a button module so that may work great. Thanks for all the helpful comments guys! I'll let know how goes

Forgot to get back to this, but the button mod with VV buttons worked great, the Customer loved it! Sorry a little late, but left you a star derfloh

Trying to make IP Office work hospitality is futile. You are better off adding 3rd party hospitality to the IPO such as Duvoice. Even for a small motel.
