Secondary sites needed?

Can anyone please explain to me why you would need a secondary site if all your clients are advanced? I have 3 total servers for 1200 nodes across my WAN. All client sites are t1. Should I just have 1 primary site server and make the other 2 just MP/DP's instead of making them Secondary sites/DP?
