I now want to build a secondary mail server, for in case, my primary mail server down. The the sec. mail server will store up the incoming mail and send to the primary when primary up again...

which step should I follow to do so? for sendmail

use you're old sendmail.mc to compile, you'll only have to change the hostname of your machine.

The rest of your redundant mailsystem will be handled by DNS (secondary MX record in domainfile)

it can let sec. mail server to store up the incoming mail and forward back to primary when it up again?
