Hi,

I have created second data and log files for tempdb on a seperate disk to the originals.

Does anyone know whether SQL Server will use the first data and log files until they are full and then move on to the second files?

The idea is to use the second files as 'overflow' files.

Thanks
Jon

SQL will fill the first file. When that file is full it will move to the second file. When that file is full it will extend the first file and fill it. When that file is full it will extend the second file and fill it.
