second public ip

presently, im using a dlink di704p router connected to my dsl modem. server and switch is connected to the ports on the router. all working fine

i got another public ip and would like to install on my other pc to make it my mailserver. but after setting the ip address and tried to ping the net, it gives me 'request time out;

Don't know where you have physicaly placed your PC/MAilserver, but is should be before your router.

Put a Ethernet HUB between the router and the DSL modem and connect the PC/MAilserver to the hub. This should normally work fine.
