Second line on 8314

Hi,

I have an 8314 analog phone and 2 POTS lines. The phone works when plugging in one line only however when I add the second line, the phone displays "line in use". What do I have to do to make both lines functional on the phone?

What happens when you reverse line 1 and 2. Are you sure the two lines are functional in a standalone scenario?
