It's a 4 gig Western Digital drive taken from another computer. I added it as slave using "cable select" jumper position (also tried master/slave jumpers). The BIOS sees the drive, and so does my WD utility disk when I boot from it, but Windows doesn't see it.
The HD works. If I make it the master, it boots up (still has Windows installed). It uses EZ-Bios when it's the boot disk.
The system I'm installing it in is a Compaq Presario 7470, recently "quickrestored".
