I have setup the user accounts on both PCs as directed in the docs. I have tested with the mapped drive, and it works. However, when i attempt to do the network backup, it says completed but with errors, and the files are not on the remote PC. I guess my path is wrong? Any help is appreciated.

have you allowed the new user to "log on as a service"
on Secc???

As tekice advised, whatever account you are using as the backup account has to be set up to log on as a service on the SECC. You'll need to set that user up in the Sybase backup service to do the backup, and have the same user/password set up with permissions on the folder on your destination machine.

I've done that. When I try to perform the immediate backup, should it be done from the scheduler or off of the start menu?

could you give me an example of a backup path you have used to make sure my format is correct?

i have identical users setup on the SECC server and on a network PC and the user has permisson/access to the shared folder on the Network PC. I have configured log on as a service on the SECC server. I select Network DB Backup path on the SECC server, put in the created user in the account with its associated password, my path is \network PC IP address\shared folder name and click OK. Go to SECC administration window, backup, start and wait. The unscheduled Online backup window says completed OK, however, the SECC backuplog says that it is completed but with errors. The shared folder on the network PC does not contain any backup files, and when i try to monitor the session through computer management, the user never logs into the shared folder. I'm stumped....

On the target folder, give that specific account access to the folder, rather than just "Users" or a more general group.
