You have installed sec 7 before sp3?

You do not need SQL for OAS, leave out installing performance databases.

Please explain what you mean 'not getting own servername'?

Install doc is on install cd, follow that procedure it is explained there,

Dear parnum,

This is a fresh installation.

sql 2005 sp3 i am using for this is it compatible?

Regards,
Thamiz

Thamiz,

Yes, SQL2005 is supported, it must be located on the same server.
But as parnum said, it is not "mandatory" to install the PDC database, OAS can work without it, it is just for statistics...

Ok I understand your problem.

SQL does not have to be on the same server but if you do not have SQL on the same server you must install SQL agent to be able to connect to a networked SQL installation.

If SQL is on another server, I would installl SQL agent and tools and check connectivity in SQL to your SQL server using the 'Sa' password. If this works, your install will work. Using 'sa' means you do have the rights to create the databases for certain.

Until this works you will not be able to install Solidus.

When you install PDC in OAS it asks you for SQL server name, then the username and password, and enter SQL instance if it is used.

Dear Parnum,

Sorry for the delayed reply.

i have installed sql on the same server, after starting the sql agent also i am not able to take the data base for OAS. i have tested SQL 2005/2008

Thamiz

You do not need SQL agent on the same server so that will not fix your problem, SQL agent is for SQL on a different server. If you setup an odbc connection manually can you connect into your SQL ?

If you try and install for example solidus that also uses SQL, does that see the SQL ?

Why do you need the OAS SQL at all, why not install with no PDC?

Dear Parnum,

Thanks for your valuable support now oas taken the sql.
