I have a new passenger in my machine called SearchProtect.

I can't find it. [rainbow]
I can't uninstall it. [flame]
I don't know what it is. [curse]
I don't know what it does. [hairpull3]

The closest I can get is the folders shown in the attachment - neither of which exist in Windows Explorer.
There is no trace of this thing in "Control Panel --> uninstall". [machinegun]

Does anyone know anything about it?
Mostly, does anyone know how to get rid of it?

Thanks

You should have posted this in "Virus/Spyware Discussion". It is malware.
Take a look at these: Link

But I would run ADW Cleaner first, reboot. Follow that by running RogueKiller, reboot

You may not be able to do some of the instructions in that document (like uninstalling from PROGRAMS). But you will need to clean up the browsers as indicated to get the search settings/home page fixed even after it's removed.
