I have added a Find Record button on a form using the wizard to add a command button. When I select this button I have 2 issues:

1. There are two options greyed out "Search Fields as Formatted" and "Search Only Current Field". However, if I select Find from the Edit menu, these are functional. Is there a way to edit this command button or add the other one somehow? If I have to edit somethiing in the event procedure for this command button, please be really specific on how I do this as I am really new to visual basic.

2. The default for both of these in the Match category is set to Whole Field. Is there some way to change the default? I would like the default to be Any Part of Field.

Thanks in advance for any help.

Are you trying to find a record in a table using a command button on the form?

I am using the find button to locate possible records that match. I don't necessarily know if there is in fact a record until I search for it. The field I am searching is a Last Name field which can have cross references (ie. Smith xx Jones - typed just like that) so I need to be able to search part of the field.

Did I answer you question?
