Searching my Website with no online input

Hi,
is there any downloadable extension to add a search function to my site? i dont want to have to have an internet connection running for the search to work so as i said can it be an extension or do i need to do it a more complex way
i used the one inside help on dreamweaver and got confused trying to make it use recordsets etc

in help it said it is possible to do it without SQL at all can you demonstrate this to me
recordsets or something it says
