If you are searching in a table and the value has a hyphen (-) in it, it there going to be a problem finding that record?

I am searching using a recordset in access (in the code) and the value has a hyphen it it, but it has one in the table too.

I keep getting an error message that it can't find it.

Ex - value searching for in table 01-C-AW-WISU
Ex - value that user types in 01-C-AW-WISU

They are the same but for some reason I keep getting a not found message.

THANKS

Hi fontanas. Are you sure these values actually contain the hyphens and the hyphens aren't in the FORMAT?

Open the table in design view, click on that field and look at the format at the bottom of the screen. It'll look something like:

00-0-00-0000

Remove the format.
