Hi. I'm in need of a program to cut a line from a textfile into several lines. The fields in the line are delimited by an apostrophe ('), and each field isto be a new line in the output. The reason I ask here is because I know many of these DOS commandline utilities are written in C. I'd write this one myself, but my company doesn't have a C-compiler. My question would be: does anyone know where I might find such a tool?

(I tried Textool, but it only allows input lines of up to 255 characters, while my input lines can be 5000 characters or more) --------------------------------------

Used TexRep12 to cut the line into smaller lines first. That way Textools can handle it. Sorry if this was the wrong forum to ask :) --------------------------------------

simple program. you can code it but you dont have a
compiler. the compiler you would require can be downloaded from any nunber of places for free. borland builder standard can be had for under $40. no excuses!!!

Well, like I said, I found a program already to do it, and, as it turns out, it isn't even necesairy any more. The file was supposed to be chopped up to serve as input for a cobol program, but instead we've opted to let cobol chop it up instead. --------------------------------------
