searching for picture names in CS

When I use the "search" function under File Browser, I can't find any photos. I try just part of the name, and the whole name, but nothing comes up. If I use my Google Desktop search feature, they come up instantly. What am I missing.

Are you searching with a specific extension on the file name?

no, do I need to? does it have to be the exact name and file extension?

Depends on the type of search being performed.
Is the search pointed at the correct directory?
Try searching for *.* - Are the files you are looking for displayed amongst the list?
