I want to show users some kind of text or search bar while it search through the records from database. Any examples?

You can either use the STATUSBAR or PROGRESSBAR controls or even both.
 
The only problem you could have is that if all you're doing is in effect launching a tasty SQL query on the database, the VB code will just freeze as you do it...

There are probably two ways around this. The first is I think ADO supports asynchronus operations. The second would be to use some form of threading... VB is not supposed to support multithreading (at least, not at a level you can control yourself), but a former colleague of mine claims to have achieved it though API...
