Search problem

When I try the search function in start it locks the pc for few mins and then the task bar disappears. I also notice that when i try to open properties on my C: drive nothing happens but works with all other drives etc.

To clear the pc I have to log off, when I do it tells me that explorer if not responding and I have to close it manually.
I have re installed W2k over the existing one to no avail.

First, scan the drive for errors. It'll make you restart before it will perform a disk check. If the search program runs fine on one drive, but not another.. Remember, you're unique... just like everyone else.
