Search Page does not display documetns

I created a search page for my website. When I do a search for the work bolts it return no documents but in the browser it adds to the address the word serched for.(see below)

http://www.webiste.com/search.htm?search=bolts

I do not host the site on my servers. Is there anything that nees to be "turned on" by the host? or am I doing something wrong.

search.htm needs to be an asp page which does the search and returns the page. Web server works on extensions so you will have to rename it to search.asp.
