i'm looking for a way for anyone to search my site using FP2000. What i'd like is for a box to have the user to input a keywork or something and another window pop up with the search results with the links to that page. Is this a really hard thing to do or am I just stoooppppiiidddd

Thanks in advance
Chris

No Chris, you aren't stupid. It just takes a while to learn your way around FrontPage. FrontPage has an optional search component.

Open your web and go to File/New/Page and scroll down to Search Page. The instructions are fairly clear. Hope I have been of some help,
Micheal

well... i've tried that but i can't figure out how to get it to search my site and how to load keywords.

Thanks
Chris

Chris,

Have you published your site with the new page?
The Search page option relies on being published to a server with the FrontPage extensions properly installed.
After publishing, your new search page should automatically pick up on words you search.
If you use the File/New/Page/Search Page you will see instructions on how to conduct a search of your site.
So, lets say you have 10 pages with references to balloons, when you type in balloons it should bring up all ten pages.

If you right click in the search form area, you can decide whether or not to include Score, Date, File Size, Time etc. in the search results.

You don't need to set up keywords as any word they type will point to links in your site if you have used it. As soon as someone types a word, it indexes your site for matches.

Since you might use a word repeatedly, "Score" might be beneficial to some of your users.

I don't really have an official search on my site. I put up the search page as it initially appears just so you can take a look.

You can search for example "HTML" and see 50 pages come up with this keyword because of an ad link on each page. Because of this, these pages might not all be relevant, but it will still pull up all pages with this word. Hope I have been of some help,
Micheal
