I am trying to load an excel spread sheet into Access 2007 and receiving the error message...SEARCH KEY NOT FOUND IN ANY RECORD.

How can I get around this? Thx

hi,

What is your search key in Excel? Do you have BOTH TEXT and NUMBERS in this column?

for a NUANCE![tongue]

Someone sent me the sheet to compare against one of our DB2 tables. I am simply trying to import it. How would I know the search key? It is a sheet comprised of several Identifier type numbers. Generally they are numbers. But one column has the scientific notation and I cant change it. That may be causing the problem -- I will remove the column and try again.

When you import, you must use an import spec.

Do you have any fields defined that have TEXT & NUMBERS?

Scientific notation is just a DSPLAY in Excel. The underlying value is a NUMBER.

ok, i'll go the import spec way...thanks much
