Hi,

Just want to know is someone can help with issue with 'search function' on Livelink which I have not been able to resolved for over couple of weeks now. I tried using the following approach with no luck;

• Done regular check and restarted the live link services on admin server.
• Checked all process running on admin server.
• Flushed and started data flow from system object volume under live link admin page.
• Restarted all the process under live link admin page.
• Resynchronized Enterprise dataflow manager.
• Checked the port configured for index engine.
• Tried changing the port number.
• Recreated the Enterprise data flow.
• Checked Otadmin file on server and enable antivirus exception for Livelink

The error message I got: Livelink cannot run Query because it is waiting for one or more search engines ro start.

Thanks,

Wasiu

what is your livelink version and do you have a RMI process for your defualt admin server.Very new livelinks(CS10) does not have the RMI registry stuff. Is the index files on attched disk or remote and do the service user of livelink have full control on that file share.

Well, if I called the wrong number, why did you answer the phone?

Thanks for your reply,I have check the ports; Admin Port - In use and RMI server port is available. This is what I got from the Object error report: 15534136 The process has returned an error: Unknown Update Distributor Error. Admin Server Error: Process is missing from the admin server.
15534139 Admin Server Error: Process is missing from the admin server. The process has returned an error: Unknown Index Engine Error.
Index Engine for Partition 1 The process has returned an error: Unknown Index Engine Error.

Appnair,
Thanks for your reply,

there could be corruption within the database. Is it possible that a clone of this server was started somewhere else using a cloned database. In other words do you maintain of copy of this admin server/livelink server using any cloning techniques.

do these queries when executed on the underlying db
Code:
Select * from kini where inisection=’AdminServers’

select * from kini where inisection='SliceReferences'
and inikeyword like 'Library'
bring back info and do you think that info is valid viz a viz this admin server?

after stopping all the services can you check under the data flow directory see my example here
C:\CS10\index\enterprise\data_flow\20384_0.0\0000000000
you have no files that starting at the level 00000
and inside that don't have anything other than files starting with 0000.In other words you should have no files underneath that directory that starts with 2 etc...

if you see corrupt files you should open a ticket with ot support. If a corrupt ipool message happens then search won't run

Otherwise OT support may be your best option
