Dear frends

plz some one advise me on that how can i have a fast search field like it is in the LOV that it sorts out with each key hit.

best regards

Are you on client or web?

If on client, try a repeating timer that starts on entry to the text item and stops when you leave it. The timer should check if the contents of the text item has changed and do something if it has.

If you are on web, dont use a timer. Try looking for or writing a java bean that looks and acts like a text item, but fires a custom trigger each time a button is pressed.

BUT HOW TO CHECK FOR CHANGE IN THE TEXTBOX TEXT BEFORE LEAVING IT.

IS THERE SOME TRIGGER TO FIRE ON THE KEY HIT

You will need to store the text item contents in a non-displayed item so you can do the comparison.
