Hi all,

In this company web site I inherited, using Dreamweaver MX, there is a search function that is from an external supplier. The suppilier recently allowed searches to be conducted outside the company web site. However, the searches goes into external competitors and lists them as part of the findings -- on our company web site.

So do I just program DW MX just to search internally on our site without searching outside of site and going into competitors?

Or how do I make a new search function altogether using DW MX?

Thank you.
mel.

you could filter the results to not display results from specific domains.

Thank you for your reply Steve.
So how do I technically do this?
I've built web sites prior, but have not created a search function.

Does DW MX have it's own search function?
Under what menu do I check under?

cheers,
mel.

Well, it sounds like the search thingy is already working but displaying unwanted items.

So get yourself a list of the competitors and if their domain is in the result, don't display that one.

hint: use instr()

Hello, I was wondering if you figured out your problem for the search function.

I also have to build one for my company.

Thanks!

No I did not solve it, since I had to do other things.
Instead, I took the easy way and just deleted the search function.

Many years ago, I created a search function using Frontpage.
Still trying to figure it out using DW.

If I find out, I'll let you know.

cheers,
mel.
