I have a client that is using WinME and had upgrade IE to version 6. IE6
began getting unnamed errors and would not start up after we attempted to
install internet connection sharing. Attempts to revert to the previous
version of IE were unsuccessful, so I got the bright idea to perform the
reversion while in Safe Mode. At first it seemed successful, as previous
version of IE was back. Later we discovered that any attempts to search on
the internet would not work. For example, at MSN, typing in a search
subject and clicking "go" resulted in no action whatsoever. Same for google
and any other search engine. Since the client uses Netscape 4.7 as her
primary browser, we did not consider this an issue. Until, she tried to use
the Search for Files and Folders from the Windows Start Menu. Same results
with that, no action.
I'm sure there is something left over from IE6 that is causing this, but I
have no clue what it would be.
Thanks
