hi every1,

i have recently created a new database in access from scratch (it was my first attempt). my problem now is, that i need 3 of the fields to be search fields, but although i have consulted the help menu, i cannot find the solution.

could somebody please tell me how to make data fields in an existing database into search fields. help would be greatly appreciated, as i am now under intense time pressure.

thanks a lot.

Hi,

Can you tell me what you mean by 'search' field? I've never heard that expression before.

There is no such thing as a 'search' field in a database.

ps

You need to be in one of the MS Access forums - Microsoft Access - Tables and Relationships, rather than Microsoft Project.

thanks. i know i should be in MS access forum, but i could not find one that is free. any suggestions?

what i mean with search fields is: when a user opens the database, he can type in a couple of letters of the company name for example, and the database immediately to the pages that start with those letters. i also need this funtion in more than 1 field.

sorry, i am not very technical, but this is the first database i have set up from scratch, and obviously i havent got a clue what i am doing.

thanks for help.
