Search feature inside dropdown

Hi,

was trying to replicate a navigation breadcrumb possibly like the one below. if you notice in the location navigation, the city and state has a search in the very bottom.

does anyone know how i would implement a search function inside a dropdown like this. haven't been able to find much on it.

any help would be nice to replicate a dynamic dropdown like this with a search feature. the dynamic dropdown is already implemented, but i just would like to add a search to the end of the dropdown in my nav.

Their breadcrumb drop downs are not real drop downs. That is they aren't actual <select> tags. But rather divs, with <ul>'s for the options which are links themselves.

Their search box is just a standard input box placed at the bottom of the div.

Some JS is used to show and hide the divs.
