Search Engines are causing IE 5.0 to not respond

Alright, I have looked everywhere I can think of for user support on this issuse. My user can launch IE5 and type in URL's without a problem. However, if she tries to do any kind of search from any engine, her IE hangs and will not respond. Any help would be greatly appreciated!

Use the repair function of IE5 and 5.x
If that fails, go to

http://windowsupdate.microsoft.com

and get a few of the critical ones.
