Has anyone seen issues with the Search dependant function in 7.2.2? I have seen, on numerous occasions, where the search dependants does not work correctly. For example, I had a filter that was used in 4 metrics, all residing in the same folder. A search dependants came up with only 3 of the 4. Moreover, if I copied the 4th metric and pasted into the same folder, the copied metric would show up as a dependant. I have had to rebuild many metrics so that the dependancies could be reestablished. Scan MD did not pick this up so be wary when using the search dependants functionality. Object Manager does not appear to have this issue and is what we use when we need to be sure.

are you deleting object cache before running the search?...I'd rule that out first. I'd also check that the user account under which you are performing the search has view privileges to the said objects, although this is really a shot in the dark.

what i have notice is the opposite of your problem.

i used a metric M1 in a report R1. Later I created a copy of the metric M1 to form M2. I used this Metric M2 in R1 and removed M1 from R1.
later when i searched for dependency of M1, I get R1 in the list. I edited the report R1 to confirm that i do not have M1 as any object on the template.
I feel it too confusing...why does it happen.

any inputs?

BTW, I am using 7.2.1.
