Search Creating Error "Query to Complex"

Do any of you have any ideas as to how I can overcome the error message that appears. I have a couple of databases and the first one has 300 records and search performs fine but the other database as 900 records and cannot produce the search when the records are high so prompts you with the error above.

Any suggestions would be most grateful!!

900 is not alot of records to run a query on.
I have a database with 13000 records and no problems running queries.

Can you provide more details in relation to the query you are running!!!!!!!!!!!!
