Seaport Hard Drive Crashes 2

we ordered about a dozen or so dell computers with seaport hard drives ( or so I am told) and we have had several peoples computers crashing.

has anyone experienced this problem? please advise. I am not sure if its a product defect or what...maybe something else is going on.

By seaport I'm guessing you really mean Seagate.

I am not aware of any specific problem with this particular brand "Dell" and Seagate hard drives.

Infact Seagate Barracuda's (the model you probably have fitted) have a reputation of being one of the most reliable brands.

Actually yes, I have heard of the Dells having an issue with some 40GB seagate drives. I have a site that is at a 10% failure half way through the 3 year life of there pc's.

I am assuming by this statement these are fairly new PC's and are unlikely to be fitted with 40Gigs?

I was only pointing out that I was aware of an issue that I knew of concerning Dell and seagate hdd's. It was in response to your statement of:"I am not aware of any specific problem with this particular brand "Dell" and Seagate hard drives." As there is no info to the hdd the dell model number, the actual type of crash. It could be corrupt data induced at the site. I was not implying that the hdd's were bad, that dell was bad....
