I use Seagate's Backup Exec for NT to back up all my servers. I am trying a new install on a Windows NT Workstation so I can bring my backup server down at will and not hurt the users. With this I also wanted to try out the e-mail notification of Backup Exec. I can't seem to get this to work. Has anyone had good luck with this?

Hi!

I haven't used the email notification, but the windows messaging option does work and does give you notification.
I can't seem to get the windows messaging to work. I want a notification to go to a win95 computer. Will this work? Am I doing something wrong?

Thanks
Correct me if I am wrong, windows 95 by default does not have the messaging capability. You can enable winpopup to run at startup. Winpopup is in c:\windows\winpopup.exe

Extra: Just because winpopup is there and it provides messaging to all your windows95 users, I found it might conflict with other resources. I am not sure now, but I think I remember it was with SMS 1.2. I think win95 wouldn't shut down properly if SMS 1.2 client and winpopup were running.
