I've had a seagate Medalist Hard-drive for a couple of years now. It's been sitting in a box since I got it because every time I have a go at installing it I come upon the same problem.
It is recognised by the system and the memory registers perfectly. However, from the moment i boot up, you can hear the disk spinning and then cutting out after about a second. This continues constantly while the drive is being read.
Is there something I am doing wrong in installation, or could it be the drivers? It would be a shame for me to have to bin this drive so any offers of solution would be more than gratefully accepted. Thanx.
