I really hope that someone can help me. Does anyone know why a Seagate AIT 25/50GB firware revision 03J0, which worked fine on Novell 5 and also worked with NT Backup on the Windows 2k Server (SP2) that it is still on just last week, will only backup 128MB of data now that I've installed Arcserve 2k with SP3. It is supported by MS and CA.

In Arcserve activity log, I get E6300 and E3714 messages once it reaches 128MB and then the backup falls over and in the tape log I get NT error 1450 - Insufficient resources exist to complete the requested service followed by Tape Capacity not supported by this tape drive and ClientGet CompressionRatio not supported by this tape drive.

I hope that's enough information but I think I'm going a bit stir crazy trying to fix this.

Hey,
Hmmm just curious, are you loading NT drivers for the device? If you are then disable them... ARCserve cannot compete with another software accessing the device.

Thanks for replying.

I've disabled the tape device in device manager and the seagate entry under hidden devices. I have just about had enough so can you think of anything else or anywhere else that I should be going to disable it.
