Seagate 120GB HD - Shows in BIOS, Windows hangs during boot

I have just purchased a 120gb seagate barracuda, it is the slave to my maxtor 80gb. I am using Windows 2000 pro.
It shows in BIOS but when the windows 2000 screen appars the loading bar gets about 80% across then hangs.
I have tried changing from cable select to slave and have even tried the installation wizard from seagate but to no avail.

Any help would be appreciated, cheers.

Download the seagate diagnostic utility and run it against the 120GB drive.

btw - have you partitioned this drive outside 2k?
