Hi guys

I'm trying to synch the telephone directory of two 3300 controllers. Both are on MCD4.1.

The synch fails and I get the following error for each extension:

System Data Synchronization (SDS)
Description Cannot insert record # 236 for <Telephone Directory> (The User Id provided was not known.): <<Name=Zondi,Mnqobi><Number=9896><Prime Name=No><Privacy=No><Cluster Element Id/Int/Ext/Speed Call= ><Department=Match><Location=><PNI=><GUID=4721c43c-1111-1111-1111-111101c4514c>>

Any ideas? I have checked the sds settings on both controllers.

Have you tried deleting this user and re adding it?
SDS common data sharing requires all users to be programmed via the user config form rather than the IP device form for SDS to work correctly.
Maybe this user was created this way.

Not sure where you are in your sharing. Are you setting this up for the first time? Do both network elements show "sharing". Is all your cluster programming in place? i.e not sure what you mean by "checked the sds settings on both controllers"?

The single biggest problem with communications is the illusion that it has taken place.

I have manually imported the Telephone directories onto the controllers but the synch still fails.

All cluster programming is in place, and the synch is successful for the default selected items. As soon as I select the telephone directory it fails.

Did you sync the systems after you enabled data sharing?
You can tell if not by going to the network elements form and if there is an * by the controller it means that the systems are not synchronised just sharing

You will need to select the controller(s) to sync to, and click sync
then select all the forms you want to sync.
There is also a data repair option that might just fix you issue.
