I am preparing to take the 640-802 CCNA exam and I am reading the Todd Lamelle Sybex book. I notices in most chapters the "Cisco Router and Security Device Manager" GUI interface is included. Does the exam really cover this application?

I recertified a year ago and there were no questions on SDM...

TJaw14,

It is just luck of the draw if you get one or more questions on SDM but Cisco does say it is on the exam now!

According to Cisco, these items "could" be on the exam:

- Configure, verify and troubleshoot DHCP and DNS operation on a router.(including: CLI/SDM)

- Access and utilize the router to set basic parameters.(including: CLI/SDM)

- Configure and apply ACLs based on network filtering requirements.(including: CLI/SDM)

- Configure and apply an ACLs to limit telnet and SSH access to the router using (including: SDM/CLI)

- Configure NAT for given network requirements using (including: CLI/SDM)

For the whole list of what CISCO says COULD be on the exam -
Hope this helps!
